dc.description.abstractCourse announcement on Vegetable crops production and research from The World Vegetable Center in Madiira campus Arusha from July 3 to November 2018.The intensive training is offered to African professionals who currently undertake most of the vegetable research and development activities, also to strengthen participants knowledge on the fundamentals of vegetables production practices, including physiology breeding, plant protection, socio Economic marketing and research techniques. The target groups for admission are those personnel from research institutes, universities, NGO and private sector, should hold at least a BSc in Horticulture/Agriculture degree (or related discipline) and should be less than 45 years of age. Advanced Diploma holders with substantial field/technical experience, and who come highly recommended may and the cost will be US$5400 per participant, including full board, tuition, medical care, training materials, and incidental expenses; but excluding travel costs also qualify. Applicants should be nominated by the Director/Commissioners/Deans of their respective Ministries of Agriculture/Organizations/Universities. To improve the gender participation in the vegetable crops research and development, nomination of women candidates is strongly recommended.en_US
