Call to liberalize crop marketing
This news is about the need to liberalise crop marketing in Tanzania and its resulting benefits. The government has been asked to allow farmers to sell their produce anywhere they wanted depending on who pays them more than issuing political statements to attract buyers. Mr. Salum Shamte, the chairman of Agriculture Council of Tanzania said these, citing five impediments facing farmers with restriction on selling food stuffs. Other impediments cited are shortage of agricultural inputs to boost product, lack of farmers bank and categorization of land for farmers and pastoralists.
