The study examines FinScope consulting services in Tanzania and Zanzibar. It involved field survey, interviews, and observations for data collection. Results reveal that the market for FinScope information needs to be developed. The demand is vague and therefore it is difficult for suppliers of market research services to venture out to offer FinScope consulting services (understand the information need of the client, mine and analysis the dataset and present findings in a userfriendly way). FSDT is stimulating the demand for FinScope information and offers simultaneously initial consulting services, which at a later stage shall be offered by private market research institutions.
